CAITLIN SCHNEIDER

Registered Psychologist

Caitlin is a Registered Psychologist who primarily specializes in conducting comprehensive and diagnostic assessments across differing settings and stages of an individual’s life. By graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with specific research in psycholinguistics and language development, followed by a Master of Science in Forensic & Clinical Psychology from the University of Kent (Canterbury, England) in 2012, Caitlin gained specific experience in assessing an individual’s cognitive abilities, personality formation and trajectory, level of social-emotional functioning, and in specific situations their level of potential risk-related behaviours. With this educational training, Caitlin has gained experience working with children, adolescents and adults within acute child and adolescent inpatient mental health units as well as adults involved in government agencies. Specific areas of speciality and interest include, cognitive and academic assessments (psychoeducational assessments), and the diagnoses of externalizing or behavioural disorders (e.g., Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (across the lifespan) Oppositional Defiant Disorder), internalizing or affective disorders (e.g., anxiety, depressive disorders), Autism Spectrum Disorder and maladaptive personality styles or disorders. Her affiliation within these organizations has provided her with a vast amount of diversity in clientele and required intervention that she is delighted to offer to the city of Calgary and surrounding area.

KAREN WAGNER (ZWICKER)

Registered Psychologist

Karen is a Registered Psychologist who specializes primarily in conducting comprehensive and individualized, psychological and psychoeducational assessments. Through the completion of a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Psychology from Acadia University in 2008, and a Master of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology from the University of Calgary in 2013, she has gained intensive and specialized training and experience in assessing and identifying individual’s unique cognitive, academic, social-emotional, and behavioural strengths and challenges. While Karen has extensive experience in a variety of assessments, her diagnostic specialties include Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, Giftedness, Specific Learning Disability, and Attention-deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. Through her training and practice via professional and personal endeavors, she has a range of experience working with children, youth and adults through various settings including acute child and adolescent inpatient mental health units, government agencies, schools, private practice and community programs. This variety of clientele and placements has provided her with rich learning opportunities and application of evidence based and best practice care for her clients. Karen looks forward to providing such care to those clients of Innova Psychology.

DR. JUSTINE CODERRE (THACKER)

Registered Psychologist

Dr. Coderre specializes in clinical psychology and provides individual treatment to children, adolescents, and young adults. She works primarily from a cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) perspective while integrating a variety of empirically supported treatments (e.g., dialectical behavior therapy [DBT]; acceptance and commitment therapy [ACT]) into her practice to best meet each client’s individual needs. She is currently offering virtual sessions and in-person sessions on Wednesday evenings for pre-existing clients. She is not accepting new clients at this time, but feel free to email counselling@innovapsychology.ca to get an estimate of her waitlist.

Dr. Coderre completed her M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Calgary and a CPA-accredited internship at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). She has worked extensively with child and adolescent populations with a variety of mental health concerns, and her main areas of clinical practice include treatment of anxiety disorders, mood disorders, emotion regulation difficulties, low self-esteem, and adjustment issues. In addition to her work at Innova Psychology, Dr. Thacker currently works in the public sector in pediatric medical clinics where she provides individual and group therapy to children and adolescents with co-morbid physical and mental health concerns.
