PARENT SUPPORT COUNSELLING

Guiding Parents, Strengthening Families

Parenting comes with moments of confusion, worry, and emotional overwhelm, especially when your child is struggling. At Innova Psychology, we believe you shouldn’t have to navigate those challenges alone. Our Parent Support services are designed to help you understand your child’s needs, feel more confident in your parenting approach, and create a calmer, more connected home.

What Is Parent Support?

Parent Support is a collaborative, coaching-based service focused on helping caregivers build the skills, insight, and confidence they need to support their child’s wellbeing. You’ll work directly with a psychologist who understands child development, behaviour, emotional regulation, and the family systems that shape daily life.

Sessions focus on you, not your child in the room, creating space to ask questions, explore challenges, and learn tools that fit your family’s unique rhythms.

“The point of parenting isn't to have all the answers before we start out, but instead to figure it out on the go as our children grow, because as they do, so will we." - Bridgett Miller

HOW PARENT SUPPORT HELPS

Parents often come to us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure about next steps. Our clinicians offer practical, compassionate guidance grounded in evidence-based approaches such as CBT, modified CBT, attachment theory, and behaviour-informed strategies.

You can expect support in areas like:

  • Responding to big feelings, meltdowns, and emotional dysregulation

  • Understanding behaviour through a developmental and neurodiversity-affirming lens

  • Strengthening routines and transitions (mornings, bedtime, school drop-offs)

  • Building co-regulation and calming strategies

  • Managing anxiety, separation worries, or school-related stress

  • Reducing power struggles and improving communication

  • Navigating sibling dynamics

  • Supporting neurodivergent children (ADHD, ASD, learning differences)

  • Understanding recommendations from assessments or other providers

Our goal is to help you feel more equipped, less overwhelmed, and deeply supported.
